Wrestling News

This past weekend, the North DeSoto Wrestling Team traveled to Wylie East High School in Wylie, TX.  On Friday, the Griffins went head to head with the tournament hosts in a Dual.  The group from Stonewall came out on top 43-21.  The Griffins followed up on Saturday with a 3rd place team finish which included individual championships by Josh Sarpy (113 lbs.), Cameron Davis (120 lbs.) and Dylan Olivier (195 lbs.).  Freshman Lance Ferguson grabbed a silver medal and a number of Griffins (Bryan Brown, Logan Ferguson, Chris Norris) finished in 4th place.  On the JV side, Jackson Gibson finished 3rd while Jacob Wilson and DaMarcus Hall both finished 4th.

The Griffins are off to a good start this season.  We have already traveled to Oklahoma and Texas.  North DeSoto earned medals at Broken Arrow and Rockwall Heath tournaments.

To create...

an inspiring atmosphere for young men, our school, and our community, through the avenue of a top flight wrestling program that produces young men of character and integrity who exhibit the CONFIDENCEDEDICATION, and SELF-RELIANCE to persevere through any of life’s CHALLENGES.

There is no straight line to success.  The road to the top is a series of switch-backs, zigs and zags.  Often times the road is racked with boulders you must move out of the way – as well as pebbles that get in your shoes.  Sometimes there will be blood, bruising, breaks, and blisters.  Yet to the person who is fully on purpose, all the pain is pleasurable.  Nothing is for naught; everything is for something.  All encounters and experiences are leading the person with the goal to the top.
